Abstract:

In Vietnam, “State power belongs to the people” is a constitutional principle. Its practical implementation through direct democracy and representative democracy via the National Assembly, People’s Councils, and other State agencies has achieved significant results, though certain limitations still exist. This article analyzes the legal basis and assesses the practical implementation of this principle in Vietnam; highlights both achievements and shortcomings; then proposes solutions to ensure its effective and purposeful implementation in Vietnam today.
